3.55 CFW TUTORIAL

Welcome to this tutorial to mod your PS3 so you can run homebrew programs like multiman, emulators, and more.

This will only work if you are on firmware 3.55 or lower. Check in your system settings if you are on 3.56 or 3.60 etc. you will not be able to use this guide.

First you will need to dowload the following files:

- 3.55 OFW

- 3.55 ITA CFW

- Multiman 1.16.11

If you are not on 3.55 already you will need to extract the files from the 3.55 OFW to your USB drive. Copy the .pup file into the folder -> X:\PS3\UPDATE\

You must type it exactly as shows with the caps. X is your drive letter whatever it may be on your PC.

Now insert the usb into your PS3, go into system setting and select udpate from usb.

Now that your PS3 is updated to 3.55 extract the files from the 3.55 ITA CFW to your USB drive. Copy the .pup file into the folder -> X:\PS3\UPDATE\

Make sure you deleted the 3.55 OFW .pup file.

-Now turn off your PS3

-Hold down the power button until your PS3 turn off again.

- Hold down the power button until you hear your PS3 beep twice. Let go of the power button.

- You will now be in the service menu

- Plug in the controller

- Insert your USB stick

- Select update system, update from usb stick.

- Follow the instruction on the screen.

- Do not touch your PS3 while it is updating, it will reboot, the screen will go black sometimes etc. this is normal.

Once your PS3 is updated go to game, you will see some new folders here.

One is install .pkg files

Go back to your PC and extract all of the files from the multiman rar file to your usb stick.

Also extract the files from BDEMU.rar to the root of your usb stick.

Now go back to your PS3 and select install .pkg files, you will need to install the multiman Ver 1.16.11 base.pkg file and the BDEMU-355KM.pkg file.

Now in your game menu you will have multiman installed, you can now connect an external hard drive and copy your games to it or to your internal hard drive.

Other homebrew programs are installed the same way.

This tutorial covers the very basics of modding your system and expects you to be somewhat computer savvy. Like you can extract files and copy them, create folders etc.

In saying that you are modding your system yourself and are taking all responsabilitys. Sudburymods does not guarantee that YOU are capable of doing this on your own by reading this tutorial. Therefore sudburymods.com takes no resposibility for the outcome of your PS3 mods.
